With the dragon piece i had been drawing and sketching him for almost two years so it was a pretty second nature thing for me to go to him for this piece.  I love who he is and what he represents and so using him for this helped me portray a new revelation of my self as a human being.  Taking an in depth look at my life.
This was the original image for the piece and the one i used to piece the rest of the project for the sort of digital photo collage.  then i had to shrink the images into a large enough size that the program that i used could handle the amount of images.
Sadly i was unable to get an image of my first project before i sent it home.  This one dealt with chameleons and so it was a image made of smaller images.  I wanted to show that there was something hidden in the smaller and larger image of the piece.  I wanted it to also show that many types make up a single type of animal. and since it was the blending in and disguise of a chameleon it was the ability to have something hiding in plan site.  The Camouflage of everything that we have used to make us into the people that we are today.

Here are some images of howler monkeys and there features they have that enlarged jaw bone which helps they yell extremely loud.

This pot deals with some of the mythology of the monkeys and how the howler monkeys are know as a monkey of prophecy.  I used that information in the song.

Here are some videos talking about how howler monkeys well yell.  I didn't necessarily focus on the sounds that they made more so on the concept of why they yell.  It is used as sort of a territorial device that notifies the monkey where other howlers are.

Lines of Red Dragon
Here Are the Lyric to the Song:

Swallow Sinful figs of

Fantasy

Yell from the top of

Canopies

Vines of Smoke Twist around your

Throat

Boastfully sing sorrows

As you gloat

So just scream to let me know I’m not alone

Fateful calls of

Prophecy

Fall on deaf ears

As they dream

So just scream to let me know I’m not alone

Deceitful skin

Sinking in

From within

As I hide

Harpy’s eyes

Piercing lies

As it dives

To kill my scream

Leaves of Glass

Scatter like

Broken Dreams

Glistening

From the tops of looming trees

Talons ripping flesh

As I fall from Olympus

And realize I am

Just a monkey

Ground, break my jaw

Silence me as I crawl

This death rattle is quiet tonight

Through out my years of schooling i have established a style of creating animal characters as representations of myself.  As you an see one of my main ones is a Red Dragon Which is goofy and funny but in a angry yet crazy fashion.  He represents me and so every time i make a piece using him it is a reflection of myself.  I am The Red Dragon.

The Sad Story piece dealt with the ideas that through out our lives we do the things we love until they destroy us but in the last moments of life we accept our fate and die knowing that is our life and that is what we did.
